Artist notes: One day while out on the Gulf of Mexico with a friend, we
saw a huge blue chasing flying fish a mere 30' from our boat. The sight
of the colors of these amazing fish up close was incredible. Needless to
say I was inspired to paint this piece. Once dwindling, their numbers
are now increasing thanks to the catch and release programs that are
being endorsed by Pro Fisherman. Taxidermist are also starting to
mount fiberglass replicas instead of real fish. Things are looking up!
