Artist notes: "A lifetime of painting nature and wild animals has
exposed me to the reality of pending extinction for several species,
including the cheetah. I recently learned that while it is the fastest land
animal in the world, the cheetah might loose it's race for survival. At
one point exceeding 100,000, the cheetahs worldwide population has
fall to a scattered 12,000. With this painting, I hope to reach out and
not only share the distinctiveness of this graceful predator, but also
help educate others to the cheetahs threatened existence".
