Artist notes: Until 1995 I was a
native of Black Forest Colorado. I
brought this piece unfinished to
Florida with me and completed it
once I was settled in. Unfortunately
all the Southwest art that I did in
Colorado was sold without being
published, therefore this piece marks
the turning point in my career.
Artist interpretation: As the strongest
warrior of the tribe, this chosen one
journeys to sacred ground. High on
a mountain top through the wind and
storm he carries with him his hopes
and prayers of his people, and offers
them up to the Gods in trade for
strength and wisdom that will guide
his tribe through the harsh winter
and protect them against sickness
and starvation.
